Cheese & chive sandwiches are perfect to share with your friends!

Remember to wash your hands thoroughly!

Serves: 2

  • 8 slices fresh wholemeal bread
  • 50g grated cheddar cheese
  • A handful fresh chives

You will also need:

  • An apron
  • A chopping board
  • A large plastic bowl
  • A plastic butter knive
  • A wooden spoon
  • A pair of children's scissors
  • A heart (or other) shaped cookie cutter

  1. Put the grated cheese into a large bowl.
  2. Wash the chives. Using a pair of scissors snip them into small pieces into the bowl.
  3. Mix the ingredients well using a wooden spoon.
  4. Spread 4 pieces of bread thinly with margarine.
  5. Divide the mixture evenly, and spread on 2 slices of bread.
  6. Then top with the other pieces of bread.
  7. If you want to, using a heart –shaped (or other) cookie cutter, cut out the center of the bread slices as many times as you can. (You don’t want to waste the sandwich!)
  8. Serve with your favourite raw vegetables or baby tomatoes for a healthy snack.

    1. It is interesting that the shape or presentation of food can influence what children eat isn’t it? I suppose it’s the same for us adults too! Thanks for reading 🙂

    1. It does! It is a good way to add a bit more variety to little ones meals. It can sometimes help fussy eaters too. We use all the waste in bread and butter pudding 🙂 Thanks for hosting!
