Perfect for spreading on your favourite bread and healthy too!

Remember to wash your hands thoroughly!

Serves: 2

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 lemon
  • A handful fresh coriander leaves
  • Favourite bread, toasted

You will also need:

  • An apron
  • A chopping board
  • A sharp knife (to use with an adult)
  • A large plastic bowl
  • A plastic lemon squeezer
  • A pair of children’s scissors
  • A fork
  • A teaspoon

  1. Cut the avocado in half, remove stone and scoop the flesh into a bowl using a spoon.
  2. Cut the lemon in half with a sharp knife. Squeeze half on a lemon squeezer to make as much juice as you can. Then pour the juice into the bowl.
  3. Wash and snip some coriander and add to the mix.
  4. Mash the ingredients together with a fork.
  5. Spread half onto each piece of toast.
  6. Serve immediately.

Top with sliced tomato if you wish.

You could also stir in some grated cheese to the mashed avocado and then put in under the grill, with an adult’s help, until the cheese has melted 🙂

  1. Ah, this looks delicious! I tried introducing my son to avocado when he was around 6 months old, and the mere taste made him gag. Now that he’s over a year old, I decided to give it a try again, and he went CRAZY for it! This toast is definitely in our future <3 #KCACOLS

  2. Looks and sounds delicious. I eat avocado quite regularly. Although I haven’t tried it with coriander, maybe I will try this next time as I do like that herb. Thanks again for great ideas.

  3. Yum, this looks amazing. I’m hungry already (having just had a bar of chocolate). My kids love cooking and this is something all of us would enjoy eating. #KCACOLS

  4. Another winner of a recipe. I love your site so much. It’s starting to become a go-to for me to find great, healthy, easy things to make. I swear if I’m successful at meeting my weight loss goal for the year, it’s going to partially be because of your great recipes.

  5. We love avocado! I often have it in sandwiches as does O (little A isn’t such a fan), we’ll have to try it this way next time we buy some!
Thanks for linking up to #HowtoSunday 🙂 x

  6. What a delicious idea! We love guac but that is the only thing I have made with avacado that went down well so I will be giving this try! Thankyou for sharing such a lovely recipe with #kidsinthekitchen xx

  7. Avocado on toast is one of my favourites. I usually just sprinkle salt, pepper and chilli flakes on mine but I will have to give this lemon and coriander combo a try!
